The Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of Colombia, announced on June 3 that they have already advanced towards the third phase of the creation of the experimental space in which blockchain technology can be used as a experiment.
The ICT Ministry Together with Banco de la República, they are leading the creation of said space through the Digital Government Directorate, which is also in production from May 24 to December 31 of the current year.
This space is going to materialize in the public sector of Colombia and its main objective is to create this controlled environment that allows public entities at the national and local level to acquire knowledge and adopt the use of this technology without putting public resources at risk.
The ICT Minister, Mauricio Lizcano, stated that “potential efficiencies can be evaluated through the results obtained in the development of a solution with Blockchain technology, which manages to improve and complement the processes in the entities in a safe and efficient manner. In addition, it will provide a technological solution (Prototype), which will allow simulations of different use cases in the high-value payment system.”
Based on the results obtained, government entities at the national and local levels will have the ability to use a scalable development platform. This platform will allow an interactive collaboration to experiment with Blockchain and test applicable solutions in real situations without compromising the data used in the experiments and tests.
