The fever for Non-fungible tokens or better known as NFTs continues in a timely manner and in Mexico it is not the exception, since at the beginning of this month the exhibition was inaugurated “Lovesong NFT”which is an individual show by the visual artist Berenzain Amayawhich to everyone’s surprise is in collaboration with the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and other institutions.
Lovesong NFT is a sample that was placed in the Old Academy of San Carlos de la UNAM. The digital and tokenized art exhibition has been open to the general public since February 1, 2023 and will continue until February 28, 2023 from Monday to Friday.
The opening of this exhibition at the UNAM was held on February 1 with a conference open to a maximum audience of 60 people and dealt with the art and NFTsgiven by the digital artist Jesús.wul and Alan Estrada, co-founder of Nativo.art.
It must be remembered that the Academia de San Carlos is part of the study units of the current Faculty of Arts and Design of the UNAM and it is characterized by having an extremely exquisite cultural value dating from New Spain times.
The building currently occupied by the Academia de San Carlos dates back to the 16th century. It was the seat of the Royal Hospital of Amor de Dios, founded by Fray Juan de Zumárraga, the first bishop and archbishop of Mexico from 1528 to 1548.
